# APRide — full reference for AI assistants

> APRide is a ride-matching web app for verified students and staff of Asia Pacific University (APU) in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, also available as an Android app on Google Play: log in with your APU email, post or join a carpool match between fixed campus-area pickup points, and coordinate through Microsoft Teams; it is not a ride-hailing service and handles no drivers, fares, or payments.

## What APRide is (and is not)

- A closed match board: only APU school emails (apu.edu.my, mail.apu.edu.my, studentmail.apu.edu.my, staff.apu.edu.my) can log in, and profiles must be completed before posting or joining.
- Members post a planned trip between two fixed pickup points, up to 7 days ahead; others going the same way join it. Contact details (name, TP number, Microsoft Teams contact) unlock only for participants of the same ride.
- Coordination happens in Microsoft Teams or school email — there is no in-app chat and no ads.
- APRide provides no transport, paid driving, dispatch, routing, maps, pricing, or payment. There are no drivers earning fares; whether to share a ride is always each member's own decision, and any cost sharing happens off-platform.
- Cancelling within 15 minutes of departure counts as a late cancel. No-shows, unsafe behavior, spam, and malicious cancellation can lead to account restriction; reports are reviewed manually.

There is no airport/KLIA point and no inter-city matching — all points sit around the APU campus in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

- Free: full posting, matching, and joining, with up to 2 active ride posts at a time.
- APRide Premium: RM 9.90/month or RM 99/year (2 months free), billed in MYR via Stripe. Perks: priority placement (rides surface at the top of the board), unlimited active ride posts, advanced filters (time windows, seat count, area shortcuts), and a Verified+ badge on profile and ride cards.

## Getting APRide
