Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 July 2026

APRide is operated by DUOCODE TECHNOLOGY (Malaysia). By creating an account or using APRide you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

01

What APRide is — and is not

APRide is a software-only match board that helps verified members of the APU community find other people travelling similar campus routes. Consistent with our operating rules:

  • APRide is not a transport provider, taxi, e-hailing, or dispatch service.
  • APRide does not provide driving, routing, maps, pricing, fare calculation, or payment between riders.
  • Whether to share a ride, and how to split any costs, is decided entirely by the users involved, off-platform.
  • Users coordinate through Microsoft Teams or email; APRide only surfaces the match.
02

Eligibility and accounts

Accounts are limited to holders of an eligible APU email address. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile (name, TP number, Teams contact) and for anything posted from your account. One account per person.

03

Acceptable use

  • Do not share another user's TP number, email, or Teams contact outside the ride you matched on.
  • No spam, harassment, unsafe behavior, no-shows, or malicious cancellations.
  • No commercial carriage: offering paid driving services through APRide is prohibited.
  • We may restrict or terminate accounts that break these rules; reports are reviewed manually.
04

APRide Premium

Premium is an optional paid subscription covering software features only: priority placement, unlimited active posts, advanced filters, and the Verified+ badge. It never involves rides, fares, or cost-sharing.

  • Billed in MYR, monthly (RM 9.90) or yearly (RM 99.00), and auto-renews at the end of each billing period.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe; APRide does not store your card details.
  • Cancel anytime via the Customer Portal on the Premium page — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy; your statutory rights are unaffected.
05

Disclaimers and liability

Rides arranged through APRide are private arrangements between the users involved. We do not vet drivers or vehicles and are not a party to any ride. To the maximum extent permitted by Malaysian law, APRide is provided “as is”, and our aggregate liability to you is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under law, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 1999.

06

Changes, termination, governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance. You can stop using APRide and request account deletion at any time. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
