APRide is a ride-matching web app for verified students and staff of Asia Pacific University (APU) in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, also available as an Android app on Google Play: log in with your APU email, post or join a carpool match between fixed campus-area pickup points, and coordinate through Microsoft Teams; it is not a ride-hailing service and handles no drivers, fares, or payments.

Every ride starts and ends at one of 8 fixed points around campus and the student areas APU shuttles to — no free-text addresses to mistype. Every ride opens its two points in Google Maps or Waze, so nobody has to describe where to stand. Post a route between any two of them:

How do APU students actually get to campus?
Five options cover almost every trip: the university's Campus Connect shuttle, RapidKL rail plus the last mile, e-hailing, a peer carpool, and driving yourself. What separates them is not only the price — it is who publishes that price, and how far ahead you have to commit.

Every figure above that is not ours was checked against the operator's own page on 27 August 2026. RapidKL revised several pass prices on 1 January 2026 and left My50 at RM 50. Timetables, routes and availability change without notice — treat the official pages below as the current answer, not this one.
Which option should I choose?
Pick an option you can complete on your own first — shuttle, rail or e-hailing — and treat that as your floor. Then look for a peer already making the same trip, which lowers the cost and the waiting rather than replacing the plan. Doing it the other way round, waiting on a match and improvising when none appears, is the usual reason students arrive late.

06Is APRide like Grab? Does it handle payments?
No. APRide only helps verified APU users find ride matches. It provides no transport, paid driving, dispatch, routing, pricing, or payment, and draws no map of its own — a ride's pickup points open in your own maps app. There are no drivers earning fares — it's classmates sharing rides they were already taking.
07Is APRide safe?
APRide is a closed community: every user logs in with an APU school email, contact details are visible only to ride participants, and sharing another user's TP number, email, or Teams contact outside a ride is against the rules. No-shows, unsafe behavior, and spam can lead to account restriction; reports are reviewed manually.
08Is APRide an official APU service?
No. APRide is an independent product built for the APU community by DUOCODE TECHNOLOGY and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Asia Pacific University. The APU school-email login is used to keep the community campus-only.
