Choose a travel plan before seeking a match
Decide what you can independently use for your own trip first. A good plan starts with your actual location, the time you need to arrive, your access needs, and a fallback you are personally comfortable arranging.
This is a decision checklist, not transport advice. It does not rank transport operators, state current fares or times, or promise that a particular option will be available.

When APRide fits the plan
APRide can be useful when you already plan to travel and want to see whether another verified APU community member has a compatible planned trip between the app's fixed campus-area pickup points.
The product is a matching board, not a ride-hailing or transport service. It provides no transport, drivers, paid driving, dispatch, routing, maps, fare setting, or in-app payment. Participants decide whether to coordinate outside the platform.

Recheck the official source that applies to your campus travel, confirm your own plan, and communicate clearly with anyone you choose to coordinate with. Treat any peer match as optional rather than as a replacement for an independently workable plan.

Every figure above that is not ours was checked against the operator's own page on 27 August 2026. RapidKL revised several pass prices on 1 January 2026 and left My50 at RM 50. Timetables, routes and availability change without notice — treat the official pages below as the current answer, not this one.
Which option should I choose?
Pick an option you can complete on your own first — shuttle, rail or e-hailing — and treat that as your floor. Then look for a peer already making the same trip, which lowers the cost and the waiting rather than replacing the plan. Doing it the other way round, waiting on a match and improvising when none appears, is the usual reason students arrive late.

How do I get to APU?

Do I need a car to study at APU?
No. Rail plus the last mile covers most trips, e-hailing covers the unplanned ones, and a posted peer carpool covers the recurring ones. APRide exists for the third case: it matches people between fixed campus-area pickup points and provides no vehicles, drivers, fares or payments itself.
Can APRide guarantee me a ride?
No, and it does not try to. It is a notice board for planned trips, not a dispatch service: a post is an offer to coordinate, and whether anyone matches it is up to the community. Always keep a plan you can complete without a match.
Who is allowed to use APRide?
Verified APU students and staff only. You sign in with an APU school email (apu.edu.my, mail.apu.edu.my, studentmail.apu.edu.my or staff.apu.edu.my) and complete a profile before you can post or join anything.
